This is an entry level position with close supervision performing assigned duties with detailed instruction. This position performs a variety of maintenance, construction tasks associated with the installation, repair and maintenance of irrigation canals, drains, irrigation ditches, pipelines, crossings and other related facilities along with the control and management of invasive weeds, vegetation and pests. Operate a variety of light construction equipment and vehicles. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Under general supervision of the Water Operations Supervisor, perform a variety of semi-skilled and high skilled duties in scheduling and distribution of irrigation water to customers. Perform both manual and clerical duties in the distribution of irrigation water. Additionally, Canal Operators will perform a variety of maintenance and construction tasks associated with the installation, repair and maintenance of irrigation canals, drains, irrigation ditches, pipelines, crossings, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) sites, and other related facilities. Operate a variety of light construction equipment and vehicles. This position ensures safe access to facilities, proper operations of works, and the proper conveyance and distribution of irrigation water. This is an entry-level position with close supervision performing assigned duties with detailed instruction. Perform any other duties as assigned.
